Ornament Thursday - Luck
Happy Thursday!
Hey it's Ornament Thursday again! The theme this month is Luck and here is my good luck charm. She has bells on her neck so when you shake her she jingles. Say the magic poem while you jingle and you will be lucky for sure!

Good Luck Charm

She is directly inspired by some wacky old toys called "Chunk o Luck" that I can't find a picture for right now. She is truly a scraptacular project. All of the fabric pieces were from my scrap bag. It feels great to use up those little bits and end up with something fun. The silver trim was leftover from my husband's Elvis suit from our wedding. The hair on top is from a Halloween wig. I love cutting up wigs! I got the pink button on Ebay. I think I might hang her near the kitchen sink. I could use some luck tackling the dirty dish pile today. I've done a lot of baking recently.

That's great! Love the magic poem! I want to see what the heck a Chunk o Luck is. The bottom reminds me of a rabbit's foot...what a gruesome good luck charm, eh?

Thanks! I tried so hard to find the picture of the Chunk O Lucks in my archives. I was unlucky in finding it. haha. When I come across it again I will be sure to post it. Yeah, those lucky rabbit feet are so gross! I had one as a kid and I remember petting the soft fur. I didn't think it was gross then. YUKKO! But I think a fake one is kind of funny. That totally looks like a rabbit foot on there, especially with the silver at the top of it! :D

Yes that one was the original! I never took a picture of it though, so here is the re-do. I asked Steve if he could take a pic for me, but he mentioned something about storage... big life changes... ;)
I'd like to make a handful more of these because it was fun. I'll add that to my project bag and see if it gets done. heh.

What a great way to use up your scraps! Colorful too! After you're done, can I borrow her? I need magic to get the dishes done too!

This is GREAT! She has so much character. I love the poem, too. I think I'd have to recite that at least once a day.

love the colors. What a fun and wacky creation. I need to think more like that sometimes. I'm too serious about these projects.
